Unified Radios Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

This policy explains how Unified Radios LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Wyoming limited liability company, handles personal information when you use the Unified Radios apps, our websites (including my.unifiedradios.com) and related services (together, the "Services"). It is part of our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the Services, including their disclaimers and limitation of liability. Where the Terms and this policy describe our handling of personal information differently, this policy applies. If this policy conflicts with a law that applies to you, we follow that law's requirements to the extent of the conflict.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

The apps use your microphone to carry your transmissions. Voice, including voice that passes through a Home Codec or Cloud Codec, is encoded and decoded as it happens and is not recorded or stored by us.

Our websites use cookies needed to sign you in and run the site; payment pages may also carry Stripe's own cookies. We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not show advertising.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

Amateur Radio Is Public

Amateur radio is public by nature, and you choose what you transmit. When you connect to an amateur radio network, that network may receive what it needs to connect you and carry your transmissions, such as your callsign, radio ID, IP address, network password and, if you share location, your position. Networks may relay, record or publish what you send, and anyone may listen. If you turn on APRS reporting, your callsign and position go to APRS-IS, the public amateur radio position network, where anyone can see them and others may archive them. From app version 26.10.302, APRS reporting is off until you turn it on; in earlier versions it is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in the app or on my.unifiedradios.com.

Other users may see your callsign, the registry name and location linked to it, your activity, such as when you are on the air, and your position if you share it, according to your settings.

Location

We collect precise location only with your device's location permission, and use it for location features such as maps, distances, and sharing your position with other users, with networks and, if you turn it on, with APRS-IS. You can limit or stop this at any time with settings such as Hide My Location, or by withdrawing the permission in your device settings.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share information with:

Services We Do Not Control

Amateur radio networks, APRS-IS and anyone who archives it, QRZ, Stripe, Apple, Google, app stores, and a Home Codec you run are operated by others, under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for how they handle information, and we cannot delete what you have sent to them.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy. Account information is kept for the life of your account. Diagnostic, usage and log data is kept for as long as it is useful to run and improve the Services. We may keep some information longer where the law requires it, to resolve disputes, enforce our terms or prevent abuse, and we may keep de-identified or aggregated data and what you contributed to public listings, such as repeater details. Copies in our backups expire on their normal cycle.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account in the app or on my.unifiedradios.com. Deletion cannot be undone. It ends any subscription billed through Stripe, without a refund for the rest of the period unless the law requires one. A subscription bought through Apple must be cancelled by you in your iPhone Settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions); deleting your account does not cancel it. After deletion we remove or de-identify the information tied to your account, except what we keep for the reasons in "Retention". If you cannot delete your account yourself, contact us.

Your Choices and Rights

You can change most of your information in the app or on my.unifiedradios.com, and withdraw device permissions, such as location, microphone, Bluetooth and notifications, in your device settings. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict some uses of it, and withdraw consent. To make a request, email us from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity, and we respond within the time the law requires. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights.

US State Privacy Rights

Residents of California and some other US states may have the rights above, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. In the past 12 months we collected the categories listed in "Information We Collect": identifiers, commercial information, internet and network activity, geolocation, and sensitive information in the form of precise location, which we use only as those laws permit, such as to provide the Services. We collected them from you, your devices, public registries and our service providers, for the purposes in "How We Use Information", and disclosed them to the recipients in "Sharing". An authorized agent may make a request for you.

GDPR and UK GDPR

If the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, Unified Radios LLC, at the address below, is the controller of your personal data. We rely on these legal bases:

The account details we ask for at sign-up are needed to provide the Services; other information, such as location, is optional. We process personal data in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we protect transfers with appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum; contact us for details. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. You have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority where you live or work, or in the UK to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee security.

Children

The Services are for users who meet the age requirement in our Terms of Service and are not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the European Economic Area, or the age of consent to data processing where they live). If we learn that we have collected personal information from such a child, we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may change this policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. Where the law allows, continued use of the Services after a change means you accept it. We may give additional notice of material changes.
